The Frame is an independent mental health magazine publishing writing, art, poetry and lived experience. Our fifth issue launches on 1 November 2026 and explores artificial intelligence: how it is changing our relationships, creativity, work, therapy, mental health and understanding of what it means to be human.
The issue is already taking shape, with contributions from writers, therapists, researchers and artists working across AI, psychology and digital culture.
Submissions are open now internationally for personal writing, articles, poetry and artwork.
Submission Guidelines
We welcome thoughtful, personal and creative responses to the theme.
You do not need to be a professional writer or artist. The Frame is interested in honest voices, strong ideas and lived experience — whether hopeful, critical, conflicted, funny, unsettling or somewhere in between.
We are currently accepting:
Personal essays and lived-experience writing
Articles and opinion pieces
Short fiction
Poetry
Visual art, illustration, photography and collage
Possible subjects include AI and therapy, loneliness, relationships, work, creativity, identity, privacy, neurodivergence, accessibility, companionship and what it means to be human.
Written submissions should ideally approximately 1,500 words, although this is flexible.
Poetry submissions may include up to three poems, and artists may submit up to five images.
All issues of the magazine can be downloaded for free from
the website.
