Carnyx Press: Call for submissions

Carnyx Press is a new independent publisher from Tyne & Wear, home to strange and lyrical fantasy, horror, and science fiction. We’re looking for short stories on the theme of folklore from writers in the North of England for our first anthology.
Please send us one story of between 2,000-10,000 words.
The theme is folklore. Retellings of folktales and fairytales, and new stories in a folkloric style are accepted, including folk horror. While the story can be set in the North of England and/or inspired by its folklore, it doesn’t need to be.
You must currently live in the North of England. This includes Cheshire, Cumbria, County Durham, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, and Yorkshire.
Chosen writers will be published in our first anthology. They will receive a £20 honorarium, four copies of the anthology, and 50% discount on further copies.
