North-West creative writing organisation Cultureword is seeking a proactive and passionate individual for the role of Chief Executive Officer to lead a dynamic creative writing programme across Greater Manchester.
Cultureword is seeking an inspiring and values-driven Chief Executive to lead the organisation into its next phase. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive will provide strategic leadership, ensure the delivery of high-quality creative writing programmes, and champion equity, community engagement, and artistic excellence.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead organisational strategy in partnership with the Board
• Ensure strong governance, financial sustainability, and legal compliance
• Oversee delivery of Arts Council England NPO and other funded programmes
• Lead fundraising, partnerships, and funder reporting
• Provide leadership and line management across staff and freelancers
• Act as an ambassador for creative writing and socially engaged practice
About You
You will be an experienced senior leader from the arts or not-for-profit sector with strong people skills, a track record of fundraising and programme delivery, and a commitment to community engagement, equity, and inclusive leadership.
