We are looking for a Creative Learning and Engagement Officer to develop and implement the programme of creative learning and community engagement activities for Moat Brae, in particular for audiences with additional learning needs and/or from vulnerable groups.
The postholder will be one of three Creative Learning and Engagement Officers (CLEOs) employed at Moat Brae, the National Centre for Children’s Literature and Storytelling, in Dumfries.
In this role they will help to ensure that our programme of creative learning engages with, and is accessible to, as wide a range of audiences as possible, in support of the Peter Pan Moat Brae Trust’s objectives to encourage reading and storytelling.
Reporting to the Centre Director, the role involves developing, implementing, evaluating and coordinating delivery of a range of creative learning initiatives using a mixture of arts-based practitioners (actors, authors, illustrators, etc), online activities, outreach, dedicated on-site workshops, public events, pupil/student and volunteer placements, staff training and specialist research or academic support.
The post is permanent and full-time, subject to a three-month probationary period, with a salary of between £24-27,000 / year depending on experience.
