London art studio Noot are looking for a writer to create original content for an installation to be part of a major exhibition in September travelling from London to San Francisco and New York City
The exhibition, called Unbinding the Book, is a collaboration between publishing platform Blurb and visual arts studio Jotta: it will commission 9 artists, designers and creatives to create original books or book installations that will celebrate the art of books, book-making and illustrated story-telling.
We want writers of all ages and nationalities to submit content for Noot’s submission to the exhibition: the written piece, prose or poetry, fact or fiction, narrative or experimental, should be of medium length (20 pages minimum) and in English. Themes and concepts should revolve around (im)materiality, transformation and decay but this is more of a suggestion rather than a requirement. We don’t want to give too much away about the project itself as we prefer to give complete thematic liberty and be surprised by the submissions. Please note, your work, although highly visible and central to the installation, will be printed only once per exhibition, and will be made unreadable by the end of each showing.
This is a great opportunity for any creative writer to be part of a major project in a major international exhibition. They will be always and completely credited as collaborators in Noot’s project and will feature in all press and publications surrounding the project. There will be a fee for the winner.
Deadline for submissions is July 20th, 2014. Please send all submissions as a PDF file with your name on the front page via email to andres@nootnootnoot.com
