‘Who Writes The Future?’ will combine activities on creative writing skills, the history of computing and futurology, and material from the Bodleian’s collections, and will result in an anthology of short stories produced by the summer school students.

We are looking for a creative writing workshop facilitator that meets the following brief:

Professional writer with a published text.
Able to lead the summer school activities in partnership with Jacob Ward.
Experienced working with children.
Experienced planning and delivering creative writing workshops for children with a wide range of abilities and experiences.
Experience of working collaboratively in a team-based creative writing project is desirable, but not essential.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with people with a range of diverse experiences and backgrounds.
A teaching qualification or other relevant accreditation is desirable, but not essential.
Availability to attend a launch event for the anthology in October 2019 is desirable, but not essential.

Number of days: 6-8 total. 5 workshop days (4-day summer school and 1-day follow up roundtable), 1-3 for workshop design and planning
Dates: Tbc, 1 day in May for summer school programming, w/c 29 July for the summer school, and w/c 26 August for follow-up roundtable.

Fee: £2,000 total. Fee includes workshop planning and delivery, and meetings for programming the summer school.
