Creatives in Residence, Things Made Public CIC
Deadline: Sun 18 Nov 2018
Whether a born and bred Basildonian, or from further afield, we invite you to join us in hosting your own two month pop-up cultural project in Basildon. We’ll be providing grants of between £250 - £1500, as well as your very own shop unit in the centre of town for two months.

Have you ever dreamt of creating your own pop-up comedy club? Perhaps you’ve always wanted to do an artist residency in the centre of town? Or even set-up an alternative pop-up school for the community?!

Creative Pips is a brand new programme launched by Things Made Public  CIC supporting community-led cultural projects in Basildon town centre. Like so many towns across the country, Basildon is fighting off the effects of shop closures on the High Street. Fed up of ‘to let’ boards littering the town, Basildon Council has taken the bold move of handing over the keys of their vacant shops in the town centre to Things Made Public…and what better way to celebrate than to give them to YOU!

Projects must run from 1st December 2018 - 1st February 2019 and should be based in Basildon. We welcome all applications, however, would love to see projects that celebrate and improve the town itself.

To apply, please contact Sarah Walters sarah.walters@thingsmadepublic.com with the following information by Sunday 18 November 2018:

1) Project Proposal (max 500 words, please include images where suitable):
Please tell us who you are, what you plan to do and why you believe it is important.

2) Relevance to Basildon: Please tell us why your project is relevant to Basildon.

3) Dates: Please tell us when your project will be open to the public between 1st December 2018 and 1st February 2018 (please note projects should be 2 months long).

4) Funding: Please tell us how much funding you are applying for and what you will be using it for (please provide a budget).

Deadline: 18 November 2018
