David Fickling Books is searching for a special new storyteller. Could it be you? David Fickling Books is once again opening the doors of its Storyhouse this February to discover a new, un-agented, unpublished children’s or YA author through its open submissions competition, Search for a Storyteller.
David Fickling Books and Arvon are looking for a writer with huge potential who wants to grow and hone their skills. Someone who is passionate about bringing new stories to readers over a sustained career and who is inspired by the prospect of editorial development. We are open to all genres, all styles and all voices, aimed at readers between 8-18 years old.
Eligibility:
You must not have had a full-length children’s novel commercially published in any territory.
You must not have a literary agent.
You can be based anywhere in the world, but the manuscript must be written in English.
You must be over 18.
Prizes:
The winning author will receive:
Several editorial sessions with David Fickling Books’ editorial team.
Full access to an online Arvon at Home writing course.
A publishing contract with David Fickling Books.
Shortlisted authors will receive an editorial report on their submission.
There is no submission fee.
