Scottish Book Trust is looking for five Digital Storytellers who will each work with one of the following library services: Orkney Library and Archive, Dundee Library and Information Service, East Ayrshire Leisure,
Falkirk Community Trust, Inverclyde Libraries. This opportunity is open to creative digital practitioners with experience of working in community settings currently resident in Scotland or who are prepared to relocate to Scotland for the duration of the programme.
A creative digital practitioner is defined as anyone employed professionally in a chosen creative practice which includes:
•Personal writing/ storytelling
•Making creative digital media
•Supporting learners by facilitating group work where participants create individual pieces of work
Working with local communities, Digital Storytellers will deliver a project that supports and enables participants to create their own digital stories. Where appropriate, stories created will be stored in library archives and shared via appropriate online platforms.
Each Digital Storyteller will work within a library/library service and the community it serves. . Scottish Book Trust will offer advice and support on project design and delivery on an ongoing basis throughout the residency.
As part of the residency you will deliver “train the trainer” workshops so library service staff and participating organisations can run digital storytelling workshops in the future.
