The Scots Language Centre seeks a director to be the strategic and operational leader of the Centre.
The Scots Language Centre is a publicly funded organisation dedicated to supporting and promoting the Scots language, its culture, and its speakers. The Centre provides information about the Scots language, encourages its use through a programme of online activities, develops educational material for use in schools and other learning situations, and works in partnership with government as well as educational, cultural and language organisations.
About the Role
You will work closely with the Board of Trustees, our Treasurer, education and information officers, and external contractors to develop the most impactful programme of online and offline activities. You will be the public face of the Centre and should feel confident about meeting and working with policy makers, journalists and broadcasters, community groups, and artists and creatives.

• Skilled in financial management and organisational leadership
• An excellent communicator who can inspire confidence and build strong relationships
• Experienced in leading teams and fostering a positive, inclusive culture
• Comfortable representing the organisation publicly and advocating for its mission
Experience in language promotion, and / or the education, or creative sectors is desirable but not essential — what matters most is your ability to lead with integrity, purpose and a love for the Scots language and the communities that use it.
Part-time, 0.4 FTE (14 hours per week)
Salary: £21,200 (£53K FTE)
