Dramaturg, Royal Court Theatre
Deadline: Tue 2 Nov 2021
The Royal Court is the home of the English Stage Company Limited (ESC) and is the UK’s leading theatre dedicated to new writing. We are looking for an artist whose practice focuses on new work and who brings experience of working with writers; a deep curiosity about dramaturgy; and a commitment to new forms and stories that will disrupt, reconstruct, and open-up space for change.

The Dramaturg will be part of the Literary and Artistic teams, working closely with the Literary Manager, Associate Directors and Literary Associates across writer development. We are open to offering this role either as a fixed term employment contract or as a freelance engagement, whichever is preferable.

Up to 20 plays a year are staged at the Royal Court between two theatre spaces (the Jerwood Theatre Downstairs and the Jerwood Theatre Upstairs) at the Royal Court’s home on Sloane Square. Over 120,000 people visit the Royal Court every year and many more see our work offsite, online, in the West End, globally and on tour. Our unique sector-leading activity is the play development work which takes place year-round including an ongoing programme of Writers Groups for around 100 writers a year.

Time Commitment: 2 – 3 days per week
Contract: Fixed term employment contract or freelance engagement for 12 – 18 months
Fee: £150 per day

Please apply via our website

Deadline: 2nd November 2021
