Editor and Publishing Director, Wasafiri

Wasafiri is seeking to recruit a dynamic Editor and Publishing Director with exceptional leadership skills and a passion for international writing to provide day-to-day management of the organisation and magazine, as well as strategic planning for its future.
Supported by a dynamic in-house team and Board of Trustees, you will develop a strong vision as Wasafiri celebrates its 40th anniversary, and oversee and deliver on its publishing and events programme. You will work with existing funding partners and seek out new funding opportunities to safeguard the future of the organisation.
This role would suit an experienced arts leader with energy, verve and a deep commitment to diversity and inclusion in literature. A senior executive position, the Editor and Publishing Director reports to the Chair of Wasafiri's Board of Trustees.
The salary is £38k-£40k (pro-rata) depending on experience and will involve a commitment of 4 days per week, at least 2 of which will normally be spent in the Wasafiri office in Mile End. It will also involve some evening and weekend work and occasional travel.
Start date: 2 January 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter
