The Jewish Book Council Trustees are seeking a new Director for the prestigious international literary festival, Jewish Book Week, which takes place annually in February/March in central London
The Festival Director and his/her team will be responsible for all aspects of the festival’s programming and production. The festival, which runs for 9 days, comprises talks, discussions, performances, and a book fair. A growing programme of associated events also takes place at other times of the year.
A background in publishing, marketing and event production would be advantageous, but not essential. The position requires a dynamic, experienced organiser, with a passion for books, an aptitude for maintaining excellent relationships with authors, publishers and partners and the ability to cope successfully with the unexpected. Applicants should be strong communicators both on paper and orally, successful fund-raisers and able to put together an exciting festival.
The role may be configured as full or part-time, depending on the candidate. A competitive salary according to experience will be offered.
