We are looking for a Production Assistant and Fundraiser to help organise one of the largest and most prestigious literature festivals in Britain. Ways With Words was founded 27 years ago and currently runs three festivals a year.
Words by the Water festival – 10 days in March at Theatre by the Lake, Keswick, Cumbria Ways With Words festival – 10 days in July at Dartington Hall, Devon Southwold Literature Festival – 5 days in November at Southwold Arts Centre, Suffolk.
Residential writing holiday in Italy takes place in September / October.
This is an exciting opportunity for anybody passionate about the arts, culture, and literature to work in diverse areas within an arts organisation - fundraising, press and marketing, organising accommodation, assisting with writers’ arrangements for the festival as well as meeting and greeting writers at the festival. The role will require some travel to the festivals in Keswick, Cumbria and Southwold, Suffolk.
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, reliable, hard working, accurate, has good computer literacy, and has a pleasant manner on the telephone and face to face. A background in marketing / fundraising and a driving licence is preferred.
The role will be part-time three days a week and paid at £20,000 pro rata. You will be required to be fully available for festivals.
