Arts St George’s (part of St George’s Hospital Charity) in South West London provides opportunities for patients, families, staff and the wider community to engage in creative activities and enjoy cultural experiences.
We are recruiting for three exceptional creatives from a range of disciplines - from performing arts (music, theatre, dance, poetry) to visual art - to fulfil the freelance brief for a ‘Resident Artist’ working between March-July 2022 (with the potential for extension).
This is an exciting opportunity for experienced artists who wish to develop their participatory arts practice within a healthcare setting.
Description of work involved:
Planning and leading in-person participatory sessions, with flexibility to take sessions online if required.
Create a sensitive atmosphere which encourages participation and allows participants to express themselves, using verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
Participating in evaluation meetings with the arts team and fellow resident artists.
Acting as a representative of SGHC whilst at the hospital.
We would love to meet people who have:
At least 2 years’ experience as an artist and creative facilitator (either voluntary or paid).
Evidence of innovative ways of working and committed to working in bespoke settings.
Have a sensitive, flexible approach to delivery and be an excellent communicator.
Fee: Planning and delivery will be paid at £120 per half day or £220 per full day (inc. VAT).
