ArtfulScribe is looking for a Writer Facilitator to lead Writing for Page and Stage, an online writing programme open to adults aged 18+, delivered in partnership with Mayflower, Southampton.

Writing for Page and Stage is for anyone who wants to explore ideas, reflect on life, or simply enjoy the act of creating. These relaxed, interactive sessions are designed for beginners as well as those who already enjoy writing. Participants can try their hand at poetry, short stories, scripts and other forms. The emphasis is on enjoyment, experimentation and community.

As well as being a talented writer, the Writer Facilitator will be energetic, dynamic and passionate, and capable of planning sessions to encourage and inspire a diverse group of adults exploring creativity through written and spoken word. A track record of workshop delivery and publication or other professional experience as a writer is essential. Successful applicants will demonstrate a strong interest in supporting diverse voices and working as part of a community of writers at ArtfulScribe.

This role is a freelance contract. Although delivery is online, you will need to be able to attend occasional in person training and support the group at events where required, and so preference will be given to writers who live or work in or near the Solent region. You will be responsible for registering as self-employed (if required) and paying your own tax and national insurance. A recent DBS check (within two years) or subscription to the DBS update service and Public Liability Insurance is essential. If necessary, DBS checks can be initiated through ArtfulScribe.

Fee: £90 per 90 minute delivery session (fee includes any planning time)
Dates: Mondays 7pm-8.30pm during term time (10 sessions per term with a half term break)
