Griot's Well Poetry Development Programme

Writerz and Scribez CIC is accepting submissions for Griot's Well, a one-year poetry development programme for black and ethnically diverse UK poets over the age of 25. The mentors on the programme are: Tolu Agbelusi, Jasmine Cooray, Ajanae Dawkins and Rachel Long. Other artists include Kayo Chingonyi, Peter Kahn, Jacob Sam-La Rose, and Danez Smith.
Over the course of a year the selected eight poets will be supported through a range of activities including:
Monthly critique workshops
Five Masterclasses
One to one mentoring
3 Day Writing Retreat
Paid Artist Residencies
This programme has been designed for poets who have a writing practice already and are eager to participate in community learning to develop their creative skills. Griots Well is kindly funded by Arts Council England.
Sessions will be held online or in London either at Streatham Space Project or Battersea Arts Centre. The writing retreat will be at Goodnestone House from 15-18th May 2022. The programme will begin w/c 7th March. You must be able to commit to the duration of the project.
