Hastings Book Festival Writing Competition 2024

The Hastings Book Festival Writing Competition is open for submissions for poetry up to 40 lines and short stories up to 2,500 words. This year VG Lee will be judging our short stories and Jessica Mookherjee is our poetry judge.
Single entries are £8.25.
The competition is open to all writers writing in English on any theme from anywhere in the world with 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes of £250, £100 and £50 respectively. There is also Sussex prize for writers resident in Sussex and new for 2024 a prize for LGBT+ writers resident in the UK writing on a LGBT+ theme.
