Creative Writing at Brunel is part of the Division of English and Creative Writing which prides itself on excellence in teaching and research. We are looking to recruit a Lecturer (Academic Education) in Creative Writing to cement our reputation for teaching excellence.
The successful candidate will teach across our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, with particular involvement in the delivery of our new suite of MAs in Creative Writing; Creative Writing, the Novel, Poetry, Publishing, and Screenwriting. The individual will teach and lead a number of modules across a variety of subject disciplines, including the writing of fiction and poetry.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate an ability to contribute to leadership in pedagogic practice, delivery and research.
Candidates should have an excellent and demonstrable track record of Creative Writing teaching, good interpersonal and relationship-building skills, together with high standards of professionalism.
A publication record and/or experience of the publishing industry are desirable. The post-holder will also contribute to the administration and ongoing development of the subject area.
The role also requires that the individual allocate a day a week of their time to aligning, contributing and sharing research and practice of teaching and learning in the subject area with colleagues in the Brunel Educational Excellence Centre (BEEC).
