Arts University Bournemouth is renowned globally as a professional arts university, dedicated to turning creativity into careers. Applications are invited to contribute to our BA (Hons) Creative Writing course. We are seeking an experienced creative writing lecturer, with a sound industry background to join our evolving team.
The successful individual will be practised in teaching a wide range of creative writing techniques within the higher education sector, including prose, poetry, script and creative non-fiction. The individual will contribute or lead on the delivery and assessment of various units at all levels, depending on areas of specialism and experience.
Applicants should have a grounding in or knowledge of a range of writing forms, styles and genres, as well as an understanding of creative and critical theory. The ability to develop students’ awareness of the publishing industry is highly desirable as is the ability to contribute to the support of students’ pastoral needs. A developing publication and research profile is also highly desirable.
The successful candidate will hold a Masters level qualification and a teaching qualification or a Higher Education Academy (HEA) membership. A PhD would also be desirable.
