The School of Humanities seeks to appoint a permanent 0.5 Lecturer to join its team of award-winning writers within the department of Creative and Professional Writing at the University of Wolverhampton, starting September 2020. This is a part-time (15 hours per week) post.
You will be a creative writer with a track record of published or forthcoming work, and a proven ability as an excellent teacher at HE level. A PhD in Creative and/or Critical Writing or relevant discipline is desired, but a strong research plan working towards doctoral qualification and, specifically to the School’s 2027 REF submission, is essential.
You will play an active role in the ongoing development of both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including MRes, and PhD supervision, by designing and delivering your own modules and participating fully in curriculum design.
You will also be encouraged to contribute to the region’s literary platforms, public events series and outreach projects, including co-organisation of industry seminars with visiting writers and professionals from the publishing industry.
We are especially interested in hearing from candidates with a pedagogical and research interest in Creative Non-Fiction, including areas of Life Writing, Literary Travel Writing, Storytelling, and Eco-narratives. Research, publication and interest in Digital and Transmedia Narratives is also an advantage but not essential.
