This is an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer in Creative Writing to join the English and Creative Arts Department. Hours per week: 15. Number of positions: 3. Fixed term until 13 March 2023.

As a Lecturer in Creative Writing, you will be required to make a significant contribution to the delivery of our Undergraduate Creative Writing degree (with possibly some contribution to the Masters), contributing to the delivery of our modules on the Art of Scriptwriting; the Art of Screenwriting; The Art of Poetry; The Writers Workshop; The Studio; The Writer At Work; Experiments in Writing, and The Publishing Industry and other areas of our core curriculum depending on your areas of expertise and experience. The precise distribution of teaching will be decided once we have appointed all three colleagues.

You will be expected to contribute to the research profile of the department through the activities of one of our Research Units, and to meet the qualitative and qualitative requirements for submission to the next Research Excellence Framework.

As a Lecturer in Creative Writing, you will be an enthusiastic and friendly professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a commitment to providing an excellent student experience. An established or promising research profile in any area of Creative Writing and very good teaching experience on undergraduate Script and / or Fiction and / or Poetry programmes is essential. A background in English Literature with supporting qualifications and experience would be an advantage.
