Applications are invited for the post of part-time Lecturer in Creative Writing in the Department of English at Royal Holloway. You will have an international profile as a writer, a strong publication record and successful experience of teaching at University level. You will have demonstrated the ability to work with others in teaching and/or administration.
The successful candidate will join a team of prize-winning writers in the department: Jo Shapcott, Lavnia Greenlaw, Susanna Jones, Douglas Cowie, Benjamin Markovits, Redell Olsen, Adam Roberts, Nikita Lalwani, Prudence Bussey-Chamberlain, and Nick Pierpan.
The successful candidate may be asked to teach at BA and/or MA level. The appointee will be expected to publish and to teach in the area of fiction; to foster the work of students seeking publication; and to supervise research students in Creative Writing. An ability to teach poetry and/or poetic practice, and to contribute to the teaching of the English literature syllabus more broadly may be an advantage. The appointee will have a strong sense of citizenship and a commitment to furthering the collective success of the English department.
This is a half-time, permanent post, available from September 2018. This post may be split across the College’s main site at Egham and at the College’s central London building in Bedford Square WC1, where our highly successful MA in Creative Writing is based. (Job Ref: 0518-182)
