Lecturer in Creative Writing (Fiction), University of Kent

This part-time lectureship in creative writing offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher to contribute to the undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum in the School of English at the University of Kent.

As well as teaching both at our Canterbury and Paris campuses and acting as module convenor, you will play an active role in the Centre for Creative Writing, for example in the organisation of the Creative Writing Reading Series and/or the Creative Writing Open Seminars.

With a strong track record of successful teaching at university level, you will be able to demonstrate an emerging record of international excellence in practice and publication along with a commitment to public engagement activities.

In this role you will:
• Teach and convene undergraduate modules in Creative Writing (Fiction) and contribute to curriculum development in this area.
• Teach and convene MA modules in Creative Writing (Fiction) in Canterbury and Paris
• Supervise MA dissertations.
• Play a full and active role in the Centre for Creative Writing.

The School of English currently has c. 900 full-time and part-time undergraduate and postgraduate students. Its permanent academic staff of 43 includes an excellent cohort of highly promising and productive early career researchers alongside senior staff with international reputations. English at Kent is based on a commitment to the traditional fields of the discipline, to consolidating the School’s distinctive strengths, and to innovation.
