The Department of English wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Creative Writing (Poetry & Fiction). This is a permanent, part-time (0.5 FTE) post which will run from 1 September 2022.
The postholder will join a team of creative writers in the English Department with specialisms in fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a record of excellence as a practitioner in the field of creative writing (with significant publications in both poetry and fiction) and as a teacher of the subject at HE level.
Teaching responsibilities in the first year of the post are likely to include our Undergraduate ‘Advanced Poetry Workshop’ and contributions to Undergraduate fiction modules and the taught elements of the PhD in Creative Writing.
The postholder will also lead the development of the English Department’s online, international poetry magazine, Wild Court, overseeing its production. They will be responsible to the Head of Department.
