The University of St Andrews wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Creative Writing (Prose) within the School of English.
The successful candidate will be a writer of Prose (Fiction and/or Creative Non-Fiction) with a growing international reputation as a prose writer and commitment to delivering high-quality teaching within the broad field of Creative Writing. They will be expected to have a range of interests, to publish in areas that strengthen or complement those in the School and to be capable of teaching the subject to undergraduate and postgraduate students from a wide range of backgrounds.
It is desirable though not essential that candidates should hold a PhD or MFA. Relevant publications, excellent teaching skills and an interest in promoting knowledge exchange are essential.
Applications are particularly welcome from people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds, and other protected characteristics who are under-represented in professional posts at the University.
