The Liverpool Screen School seeks a highly motivated individual with expertise and experience in writing, publishing and teaching creative prose to join the Creative Writing team.
You will be teaching on Introduction to Prose, a Level 4 module that focuses on the short story and the craft of writing fiction, and on Prose Portfolio, a Level 6 module that supports the development of prose fiction writing to a professional and publishable standard.
The Creative Writing department sits in the Liverpool Screen School, which in turn forms part of LJMU's Faculty of Arts, Professional and Social Studies. The school offers undergraduate programmes in Creative Writing, Drama, Film Studies, Journalism and Media Production, together with postgraduate courses in Writing, Screenwriting and International Journalism.
Creative Writing is a well-established programme with a growing research profile and reputation, particularly in its focus on cross-subject collaboration and writing within the community.
Current areas of industry practice / research interests in the department include: Radio Drama, Crime Fiction, Creative Non-Fiction, Poetry & Poetics, Public Arts Projects, Travel-Writing, Site-specific productions, and participatory writing within disadvantaged communities.
