This is an exciting opportunity to join the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences as a Lecturer in Creative Writing.
With your specialism in fiction, creative nonfiction and/or scriptwriting, you will contribute to the development, teaching and assessment of modules. You will also participate in the vibrant research culture of the discipline, through original scholarship and/or creative practice in the field of Creative Writing.
Skills and experience required include:
A PhD in a relevant subject or a practitioner/publication profile which may be considered equivalent to having a PhD in Creative Writing;
An established or emerging national reputation as a creative writer in one or more of the following genres; fiction, creative nonfiction and/or scriptwriting;
Ability to produce high-quality research outputs and/or creative works for submission to REF2021 and beyond;
A working knowledge of publication or performance processes coming from own writing practice;
A profile of teaching excellence in fiction, creative nonfiction, and/or scriptwriting;
An understanding of the latest pedagogical techniques for teaching Creative Writing in HE, including the issues involved in supporting and delivering distance learning programmes.
18.5 hours per week - 0.5 FTE . £40,792 to £48,677 per annum, pro rata. Permanent. (Job Ref: 16413)
