Lecturer in Creative Writing, The Open University

We are seeking to recruit a colleague to join our team of academics within the Department of English and Creative Writing. You will be expected to contribute to the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching of Creative Writing.

You will build upon your proven and successful teaching experience in higher education, and have an understanding of supported open and distance learning, particularly online teaching. You will make a positive contribution to the research culture of the subject area, and in particular to the work of the Contemporary Cultures of Writing Research Group.

You will have a PhD in a relevant subject(s) or a practitioner/publication profile which may be considered equivalent to having a PhD in Creative Writing. You will have an established national reputation as a creative writer or be developing such a reputation. You will have experience of teaching Creative Writing in Higher Education and online settings, with a specialism in at least one of the following genres: fiction, creative nonfiction and scriptwriting.

The Faculty has a strong commitment to collective working in teaching and research.
