The School of Humanities wishes to appoint an experienced writer of fiction (novel/short stories) to help deliver and lead the creative writing curriculum at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and delivery of classes in the B.A. in Journalism and Creative Writing and a new B.A. in English and Creative Writing as well as making a substantial contribution to teaching on and recruiting to our new taught M.Litt in Creative Writing.

They will also initiate and continue to develop writing projects and research leading to publications of international excellence, and seek relevant knowledge exchange opportunities that demonstrate the value of creative writing to the wider community as well as funding opportunities.

Applicants with additional interests in creative non-fiction or adaptation would be especially welcome, as would applicants who can contribute more broadly to the research strengths of our interdisciplinary School.

Applicants will have a PhD (or equivalent) and a good honours degree, a strong publication record, evidence of substantial and relevant teaching experience including convening, at undergraduate and postgraduate level, and a track record of supervising research students. (Job Ref: 242446)
