Lecturer in English Literature and Creative Writing, Coventry University

The School of Humanities at Coventry University is recruiting for a Lecturer in English Literature and Creative Writing to join our academic team.

This full-time post requires a passion for teaching together with experience of delivering courses in English Literature and Creative Writing. Research interests and creative and/or critical publications in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous: screenwriting, video games, twentieth-century literature, ecocriticism/ecofeminism/ecopoetics, science fiction, the Gothic.

We are particularly interested in a candidate who will help lead the evolution and development of the school’s English Literature and Creative Writing provision at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Someone with the vision to address the demands of teaching in the twenty-first century and who recognises the need for new ways of engaging with the subject and how this new pedagogy can be explored and developed creatively through new technologies.

Knowledge of higher education processes is important and experience of teaching through workshops, seminars, lectures, and assessment is essential to the role.
