Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing (Fiction), The University of Manchester
The University of Manchester seeks to recruit a fiction writer of reputation and achievement to join its team of award-winning writers and teachers at the Centre for New Writing.
Manchester has recently been designated a UNESCO City of Literature, and the University is a central part of the project of making Manchester one of the preeminent literary and creative cities in Europe.
You will be a creative writer with a track record of published or forthcoming work of international significance, and a proven ability as an excellent teacher. You will teach and assess undergraduate and postgraduate workshops in fiction, as well as contributing to other courses in related areas, as necessary.
You will be expected to contribute fully to the Centre for New Writing’s other activities, such as public events series, outreach work with schools, collaborations with external cultural institutions, and/or the organisation of industry seminars with visiting writers and professionals from the publishing industry.
