Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing (Scriptwriting), Manchester Metropolitan University
The Department of English seeks to appoint two Lecturers or Senior Lecturers in Creative Writing (Scriptwriting). 0.5 and 0.25 roles available.
The ideal candidates for this post will be researchers in an area which helps us to develop current and emergent strengths and will be able to evidence their capacity to produce creative research outputs which meet the quality threshold for REF submission.
They will be creative writers who have experience of teaching scriptwriting for both stage and screen at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, though applications from stage and screen specialists (including writers for new digital media) are welcome.
All candidates will be expected to have a doctoral level qualification in a relevant area or an established professional reputation as a writer, as evidenced in national broadcast media appearances, national broadsheet and literary press reviews, or major literary prize success.
They will be expected to have a track record of publishing high quality creative research outputs which meet the quality threshold for submission to the Research Excellence Framework.
One opportunity will be offered on a permanent, fractional (0.5) basis; the other on a permanent, fractional, (0.25) basis. The anticipated start date for the successful applicants is August 2023.
