Lecturer, Writing for Broadcast Media and Performance, The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama

The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama is seeking to appoint a part-time Lecturer in Writing for Drama and Performance, to teach students across two programmes: BA (hons) Drama, Applied Theatre and Education and MA Writing for Stage and Broadcast Media.

They will be expected to provide specialist teaching within a broad range of writing contexts such as film writing, writing for solo performance, theatre and radio.

The school is interested in the strategic development of work around digital and immersive/virtual environments and would welcome applications from candidates with expertise in writing for this type of work. Additionally, the post-holder will contribute to theoretical aspects of these programmes in areas such as film theory, identity and performance.

The post-holder will have a PhD or will have recently submitted a PhD for examination; some evidence of research publication would be desirable and / or equivalent and substantial professional experience as a dramatist.
