LETTING GO : Online Writers-in-Residence, Autumn Voices
Deadline: Mon 8 Dec 2025
Autumn Voices seeks two Scotland-based writers to run online sessions for older people between February and June 2026.

LETTING GO is a programme of creative writing activities for older people, developed and delivered by Autumn Voices, and supported by the Creative Scotland Open Fund for Organisations. Activities will be facilitated by four Online Writers-in-Residence (OWRs). Two of these are Moira Forsyth and Sukhema Butler, and we are seeking to recruit two more.

The OWR term will be for around two months (roughly February-March, and April-May, though exact dates will be arranged with the successful applicants). During this time you will be asked to:

present four online sessions: three writing workshops each of c. 90 minutes for a cohort of up to twelve participants, and one reading or presentation for a larger audience;

provide written feedback on one piece of writing (maximum 50 lines or 5000 words) by each workshop participant (maximum 12);

write three texts: a poem, short story or essay for the Letting Go anthology; a blog post on your writing life as you grow older, and a writing prompt, both for the AV website.

You will also make a presentation at a public, hybrid online / in-person Round Table event in Stirling in June 2026. This event will be aimed at older writers of all levels, as well as those in the writing and wider arts communities undertaking creative work with older people.

Fee: £2075
