The International Literature Exchange (ILX), a dynamic global initiative supporting innovation and cross-cultural collaboration in the literary sector, returns in 2025–26, inviting literature professionals from around the world to participate in its latest digital programme.
Led by the National Centre for Writing, based in Norwich UNESCO City of Literature, and supported by the British Council and Arts Council England, the ILX will partner with four fellow Cities of Literature: Bucheon (South Korea), Jakarta (Indonesia), Lviv (Ukraine), and Odessa (Ukraine). Together, they will deliver a series of exchanges between September and December 2025, culminating in a global online symposium in January 2026.
This year’s ILX will convene up to 30 professionals working with words — from publishers and agents to writers, educators, community leaders, and producers — to explore the urgent challenges and emerging opportunities shaping the contemporary literary landscape.
ILX invites expressions of interest from professionals working with literature or the written word based in Indonesia, Ireland, South Korea, Ukraine, or the United Kingdom.

Deadline for expressions of interest: 9am BST on Tuesday 1 July 2025
