Live Literature Internship
Deadline: Thu 21 Apr 2011
Jaybird is a small independent live literature production organisation, with a developing reputation for entertaining, beautifully designed touring poetry shows with high production values.
LIVE LITERATURE PRODUCTION INTERNSHIP - PAID

Details here - http://www.facebook.com/#!/notes/jaybird-live-literature/want-to-be-the-jaybird-intern/173040546078811

What Are They Whispering?, Jaybird’s latest show, will be on tour during Autumn 2011, probably September to November.

Jaybird is offering a short internship associated with this show, which aims to provide an individual with a tailored introduction to live literature production.

The intern will receive ...

· Two half day mentoring sessions with the show producer on the practical aspects of live literature production

· One session with the show director on the creative aspects of live literature production

· Opportunity to attend selected What Are They Whispering? rehearsals in September

· Opportunity to shadow the producer during two performance days

· Opportunity to contribute directly to the tour’s marketing activities

· Encouragement to disseminate thoughts and reflections on the internship via various professional networks

The exact nature of the mentoring will reflect the interests and experience of the successful applicant as far as is possible. Mentoring sessions and rehearsals will take place in London; the two shows will be wherever on the tour is most convenient to the intern.

A bursary of £500 is offered.

If you are aged 18+, are able to travel independently, and are either in the very early stages of a live literature production career (ie, you haven’t toured a show yet) or are interested in working in this field in future, please get in touch.
