MA Creative Writing Bursaries at the University of Southampton

The English department will be offering two Maureen Taylor Scholarship bursaries to individuals interested in studying on the MA Creative Writing programme in the 2022-23 academic year. Apply by 15 August.

Offered annually, the bursary supports post-graduate creative writing students with an award of £2,500 and is particularly aimed at encouraging black and minority ethnic (BME) women writers.

Applications are open to all, and are particularly welcomed from students who meet at least two of the following criteria:
Black minority ethnic (BME) background
Female
25 years old and older

To apply for the Maureen Taylor Scholarship, you need to do three things:

Apply for a place on the Creative Writing MA at the University of Southampton;

List that you wish to be considered for a Maureen Taylor Scholarship on your MA CW application form; and

Email Carole Burns, the Head of Creative Writing, at C.Burns@soton.ac.uk to inform her of your application.

Deadline: For full consideration, please apply to MA Creative Writing by 15 August  2022.
