Man Up - Male Spoken Word Artist, Restoke

Restoke are looking for a male spoken word artist to join the creative team for Man Up, a ground-breaking project in Stoke-on-Trent looking at masculinity and mental health.
Restoke is an arts organisation based in Stoke-on-Trent creating unmissable performances in unusual places. We co-create our performances to share the most important and engaging stories from our communities. The project Man Up aims to engage more men in the performing arts and co-create a performance, driven by the experiences of the participants.
Role involves:
Running taster workshops for men in the community January - March 2018
Participating in the research and development of a new performance and bringing other people's ideas to life April - June 2018
Producing spoken-word content, rehearsing, and performing in Man Up alongside a combined cast of community and professional performers June - August 2018
We are looking for a highly-skilled male spoken-word artist and writer with experience of working with community participation who is based within a reasonable distance of Stoke-on-Trent in order to travel in for workshops and rehearsals.
Fee: £3650 (based on 24 days at £150 per day)
