Online Tutor: Dreaming Up Words: Imagination, Worldbuilding and Character, Falmouth University
We are looking to recruit an Online Tutor to join our BA (Hons) Creative Writing (Online) team in the School of Communication.
Specifically, the tutor will be overseeing the students as they learn the core skills of creative writing in prose fiction, reading as a writer, peer reviewing each other’s work and develop their own short stories and a portfolio of flash fictions. Students will gain and demonstrate an understanding of how fiction works and begin to develop their voices as writers in this module and the tutor will support them in this.
This is a part-time position, 13 hours per week which is a flexible, home-working role which start in September 2021 and will support a group of students for 16 weeks until January 2022.
Educated to degree level, or having equivalent industry experience, the ideal candidate will have experience in working with groups of students from diverse backgrounds at HE level. Student focused, well organised, and digitally literate you will be running tutorials, webinars, online workshops and providing support for a group of students.
You will have experience within the prose fiction and creative writing subject area. Previous experience teaching online would also be an advantage. You will have excellent communication skills, and the commitment to deliver an excellent online learning experience for students.
The successful candidates will need to start on 13 September 2021.
