This is a wonderful opportunity to gain experience in the teaching of poetry in a flourishing and well-regarded Creative Writing department.
Focused primarily on undergraduate teaching, there will also be opportunities to contribute to the University’s MA in Creative Writing and to the continuing evolution of our programmes at all levels.
About the Role
You will design and deliver content across a range of poetry modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, engage in research (in the form of creative writing), scholarly activity, and public engagement.
You will also be expected to contribute to course administration, a high quality student experience, and to curriculum planning and development.
About You
A significant track record as a published poet and of engagement with contemporary poetry
Recent, successful experience of university level teaching in this subject area, including in assessment and moderation processes, and / or experience in running professional workshops for aspiring writers
An interest in poetry as a form of problem solving and in public engagement and outreach in and through poetry
A demonstrable commitment to student-focused learning and to innovation in learning and teaching
The successful candidate will have a postgraduate degree in a relevant subject, and ideally a PhD at or nearing completion
Applicants must be available to start teaching by 30th September 2024.
