Poet/Creative Writing Facilitator, Community Learning, RBG Kew

The Community Learning Programme at RBG Kew is seeking to engage a freelance poet/creative writing facilitator to develop and facilitate Plants Poets Corner and Shared Stories.

Plant poets’ corner: a regular poetry workshop, enabling participants to explore a variety of creative activities, taking inspiration from Kew’s rare and endangered plants.

Shared stories: a drop-in creative writing workshop, exploring shared stories between participants and the fascinating narratives connected to Kew’s rare and endangered plants.

Timeline: September 2020 – June 2021

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following experience and skills:

Experience of working with diverse audiences (including participants with English as a Second Language)
Experience of working with individuals and groups with additional needs
Experience of delivering online activities
Experience of planning and delivering poetry/creative writing workshops
Desirable - experience of working with cultural institutions such as museums or heritage sites

Fee: £1600 including all planning, delivery, resource development.
