Programme Assistant (Maternity Cover), Literature Works
Deadline: Sun 24 Mar 2024
A unique opportunity for someone to enter the world of writer development and literature programming for twelve months as Programme Assistant (Maternity Cover) within our small, friendly team. A hybrid role, working from home and attending weekly team days in Plymouth and Exeter.

This is a key role working as part of a small team. It supports the Acting Programme Manager to manage and implement the Literature Works delivery programme. The role involves regular contact with writers and undertakes author care at events.

Foremost amongst the projects from 2022-26 are the Quay Words live literature programme at Exeter Custom House on Exeter Quayside, the Poetry Cares project exploring the joy of poetry with people living with memory loss, and the programme of Community Writing at priority locations around the South West. With supervision from the Acting Programme Manager, the Programme Assistant (Maternity Cover) leads on the Word Space online talent development programme, the 'How to Get Published' day conference with the Writers' & Artists' Yearbook, the TLC Free Reads programme, and the Plymouth Laureateships (Plymouth Laureate of Words and Plymouth Young City Laureate). The role actively participates in the wider core Literature Works offers.
