We are looking for a Public Affairs Manager to join our Marketing and Communications Team to lead on the development and delivery of our public affairs strategy.
You will identify and build relationships with key external stakeholders, such as MPs, Councillors, Mayors, and Government Bodies. You will advise on the best ways to communicate with them across a range of platforms to achieve awareness and build reputation.
You will be an exceptional networker, strategist, communicator and writer, with a personal interest in the arts and culture sector. Previous public affairs experience, ideally with government departments, is a must.
The Reading Agency champions reading through a wide range of different programmes and activities. We believe in the transformative power of reading to create better lives for people and in 2021/2022, we reached nearly 2 million people through our activities. Our programmes are for all ages from the Summer Reading Challenge delivered in public libraries, to mental health and wellbeing initiatives, national reading campaigns and literacy projects in prisons.
This role is a fixed term part time role,18.5 hours per week for 12 months offering hybrid working.
