Research and development residency, responding to themes of loss, grief, or death as part of Inverclyde Care/ Inverclyde Culture Collective 2023 “No One Grieves Alone” events programme.
Inverclyde Culture Collective has recently set up a “Creative Practice in Health and Social Care” working group formed from different health and social partners and representatives across Inverclyde. After an initial period of Creative Research, the group identified several priority areas in which through a series of test pilot projects, wish to explore the potential and possibilities of creative response to them. This opportunity locates itself besides and within a broad range of activity happening across Inverclyde connected to similar themes including Greenspace Scotland's “Remembering Together Covid Memorial” and an inaugural test pilot programme by Inverclyde Cares “No One Grieves Alone” a series of talks, discussions, exhibitions and presentations around themes of Grief, loss, bereavement and death taking place in April 2023.
Through this residency an experienced artist or creative practitioner will be invited to:
-Respond through any or multiple art forms to the themes of Loss Grief and Death
-Present and share your research and development as part of the “No One Grieves Alone” programme (April 17th - April 28th, 2023). This could take the form of an online sharing of a work in progress, a talk or discussion, sharing of research, a filmed work or a different kind of event or contribution proposed by the artist(s)

£2800 (Fee calculated at £700 per week x 4)
Materials Budget: £1000
Travel costs and Per Diems do not apply to this Residency. There is a separate access budget for all Inverclyde Culture Collective Activities managed by the Creative Producer.
*Based on ‘SAU Residency Rates’ where the artist defines their own hours in research and development with no pre-determined outcomes.
Engagement Timeline: The allocated time for each artist residency will be 4 weeks. The exact timeframe will be negotiated between Inverclyde Culture Collective, and the artist involved and tailored specifically in line with activity proposed.
