Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing, City, University of London

The Department of English seeks to recruit a 1.0 FTE Senior Lecturer to deliver its MA Programme in Creative Writing, which offers pathways in Fiction, Non-Fiction and Genre Fiction.

The successful candidate will have a distinguished record of published outputs in at least one of these pathways that meet or exceed the 3* quality standard set by the Research Excellent Framework. A doctoral qualification in Creative Writing is highly desirable.

In addition, candidates should have expertise in managing academic programmes and/or curricular development, and possess extensive experience of teaching creative writing at postgraduate level.

As part of a broader contribution to the Department, the successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the delivery of the BA English and MA English programmes.

City, University of London has a long and distinguished record of teaching Creative Writing at postgraduate level. Following the creation of the Department of English in 2017, a major restructuring of its postgraduate provision was undertaken and new MA Creative Writing and MFA Creative Writing programmes, incorporating strands in Fiction, Non-fiction and Genre Fiction, will launch in September 2020.
