Senior Lecturer in Critical Theory and Creative Writing (Teaching and Research), The University of Manchester
Applications are invited for the full-time, permanent teaching and research post of Senior Lecturer in Critical Theory and Creative Writing which is tenable from 1 September 2022.
You must have a PhD or equivalent in a relevant field and demonstrable teaching experience in Creative Writing and Literature/Cultural Theory at university level, including MA level. Research should ideally stretch across aspects of Critical Theory and Creative Writing. Only applicants with high quality publications will be considered.
You will be able to deliver practice and theory core courses and must have experience of practice-oriented MA course units in at least one of the following areas: poetry, non-fiction writing, critical theory pertaining to race, identity and eco-criticism, modern and contemporary literary studies, and cultural history.
You must have experience developing online teaching materials. A record of grant capture and PhD supervision would be highly desirable, as would experience of coordinating and/or directing centres/institutes at departmental and university level. You must have excellent interpersonal skills, be collegial, and be able to empathise with students.
