Short Story Slam: A Writing Competition with a Difference

Chalk the Sun is organising a 200 word short story competition as part of Wandsworth Arts Festival 2012

The short-listed finalists will be invited to perform their stories live at the Short Story Slam 7.30pm Friday 25th May at Balham Bowls Club, 7 - 9 Ramsden Road, SW12 8QX. Ardella Jones will compere the show and judge Jonathan Wolfman, BBC script-editor, will select the top three entries. The audience will vote for the winner.

The competition theme is 'Games', appropriately for Olympic year, and entrants can be as imaginative as they like as long as they stick to a maximum of 200 words including title. Entry is free to over 18s and, from 1st April, stories can be submitted to: Just email your entry with your name, address, date of birth, best contact number and three interesting facts about yourself such as favourite book, worst ever job, best holiday destination.

The closing date is 12th May. The lucky winner gets a free Chalk the Sun course and dinner for two at Balham Bowls Club; runners up get bottles of fizz and Chalk the Sun vouchers.
