The Future Is Back is a FREE creative writing and mentoring scheme for LGBTQ+ prose writers led by Olumide Popoola. Apply by 27 November 2022.
The scheme is to help writers who wish to take their craft to the next level by providing a safe, supportive and stimulating environment, and giving insight into the professional writing world.
Connecting Practice will especially focus on how writers approach their work, what their process is like, and how they sustain their practice in a series of 10 online workshops running from 10 December 2022 to Saturday 13 May 2023.
There will also be extra sessions with established writers/artists and guest speakers on funding opportunities, publishing and university routes.
It's open for applications until 27 November from LGBTQ+ prose writers across the UK, and includes an access fund to support those who need it to cover costs they may need support with in order to participate. Black and brown writers are especially invited to apply.
To apply you must:
Be 18 years or older;
Be based in the UK;
Self-identify as LGBTQIA+;
