Gutter is Scotland’s leading literary magazine, publishing new fiction, essays and poetry. We showcase emerging and established writers from Scotland and beyond, whose work will challenge, move and enliven our readers.

Please note that, while we are open for general submissions as usual, we’re especially keen to read work in Scots, in Gaelic, and work in translation from any other languages.

Successful contributors will be paid a flat fee of £50 for work published in the magazine, regardless of length or style. Published authors will also receive a complimentary copy of the issue.
